I wanted to start this email by humbly begging for your forgiveness for the horribly display I initiated at your home. It was never my intention to upset you in the least. I was attempting to demonstrate the cycle of life and death for you. These are rituals I've heard the Circle of the Crone hold much value in. I merely meant to entertain you for a brief period of time. The area where you live is so dead I thought that's what you preferred. But now I remember the beautiful grove we had in New Orleans and I realize how foolish I was. I will never be so disrespectful to you again.
The help I dearly need is twofold. First off the Prince of the city of Chicago has no liking for me. At the last gathering I did my very best to be helpful to the gathering citizens. Working in a group is new to me but I did my very best and I believe i was some help. No matter how distasteful the whole thing was to me. These activities can be supported by Einar the Sheriff who I am currently helping assist in an investigation of sorts.
In thanks for my help the prince openly assaulted me, by breaking my nose with his fist, in front of the Sheriff, the current acting Harpy, Isabella Biance and the Nosferatu Randall Cascade. The wound was healed quickly but I cannot hope to gain any sort of standing in the city if I am going to be so blatantly disrespected. As I am I deserve the consideration of not being accosted when I was doing nothing wrong. Even if it's just out of respect for you and your power and undoubted help to his current position.
Pretty words aside, I am very angry at him. How dare he attack me like that? It was the action of a scared man who sees a threat in me and who wishes to suppress it through simple violent means. It is the actions of a cruel dictator, not any sort of wise leader that I would wish to follow. The sunrise was quickly approaching or I might have reacted in a way that I might have regretted. Instead I stepped back to think of a way to show him my power. If I do not these acts will undoubtedly escalate. I will not be so disregarded by him or anyone. I'm seeking your console because I have such deep respect for your views and your experience.
Please help me,
Raoul Drufays
Raoul,
I do not know what it is that you have done to
yourself. I hope that whatever it is, you can yet free yourself from
it. It has been my experience that the cost of such things can be dire
and difficult, perhaps impossible, to let go of. Still, I hope that you
can. I beg you to review your thoughts and perceptions, to think on
what it is that makes what you did so very dangerous. Why such powers
are to be avoided, feared and rightly kept from use. It is not a matter
of disrespect, but of very real danger.
Your political troubles bother me. I admit to not
being surprised though, you made this bed to some degree. It is only
mete that you must deal with it. I have tried to aid you as I could,
should I find myself in society again soon I will do more as I am able.
I do not foresee this being a common occurrence though so you must be
ready to protect yourself.
First, stay away from the Romans. The Prince,
clearly, does not like you. Avoid him. The same for Evengii and this
nattering woman we have as Seneschal. They are dangerous trouble that
you do not need. Next, ally yourself with others of use. The Sheriff
is a perfectly acceptable choice. The Scourge would be as well. The
Peters is also an excellent sort. Apprentice yourself to them, make
them your ally and if possible, your friend. Aid them, make yourself
useful and in time, invaluable. Earn your worth and your value and they
will be unable to deny nor argue it.
Ivanovich is a fool. He has always been a fool and
he continues to be such. He is a poor Prince and a failure as an
Invictus. Understand this. His approval is meaningless. Do not try to
earn it. In time he will annoy, insult and demean enough people that
they will end him. Should the next Prince be wiser, you can try to
build a proper base of respect with them. In the meantime, build your
network, make allies and friends.
Jeremy,
on behalf of his master Papa Sallow Rose
